Wonderful Writers Workshop
1/8/09 and 22/8/09
‘The most important step to creating a good writer is to create excitement and interest.’
Parents and children/young people are invited to attend this workshop together. Using a variety of methods we aim to introduce and establish good writing techniques for you and your child to build on at home. Following the course parents are able to continue the projects begun in the interactive day and adapt them to school based projects.
This course will benefit most learners and will be particularly useful to those whose achievement is below the level of their peers and those with additional needs who are working in the main-stream setting.
Movement, relaxation and storytelling
This course incorporates a variety of techniques, aiming to help children/young people become more confident and creative whilst promoting health and well being. The course centres around movement, meditation and relaxation methods delivered through the inspirational medium of storytelling.
Social Skills Workshops
This course is aimed at helping children/young people who are struggling to build appropriate relationships with others. Using games and fun techniques, it focuses on the key skills required to build good relationships with others such as body language, questioning and turn taking and tackles the age old issues of bullying and lack of confidence. This course is appropriate for a wide range of children including those with additional needs.
Maths and Literacy Classes
Is your child going into year 6 after the summer holidays? why not give them a head start on their SATs preperation. Most children tend to drop back over the long summer holiday. These courses are designed to continue building your child’s skills so they can hit the ground running when they return to school. These courses are particularly useful for those children in year 5 who will be entering their SATs year when returning to school in September.
Maths and Literacy Booster Classes
These classes are designed for those children who are struggling to attain the desired levels in Maths and Literacy lessons in school. The classes are particularly aimed at children with additional needs and offer alternative child centred methods to encourage your child’s confidence and willingness to participate in academic subjects.
